Is it a ready-to-assemble kit?
Yes. SOLYPOD ships as a ready-to-assemble kit. Installation can be done by yourself, a local contractor, or the professional installer of your choice.
Is a « turnkey » system mandatory?
No. SOLYPOD is fully modular: order the structure alone, with panels, with batteries, or as a complete energy solution.
Which versions are available?
Two waterproof series: Essential (shade, rainproof) and Premium (premium finish and rainwater collection), in aluminium or black.
Structure & dimensions
What are the dimensions (Essential series, 2 vehicles)?
Width 5,955 mm, depth 5,200 mm, maximum height 2,750 mm, clearance ~2,400 mm, post spacing 5,000 / 3,615 mm. Enough to comfortably park two vehicles.
How many panels does the structure hold?
The standard configuration is designed for 15 photovoltaic panels, in a 3 × 5 layout.
Which panels are compatible?
Standard market photovoltaic panels. The standard structure is designed around modules of 1722 × 1134 × 30 mm.
Can other panel sizes be installed?
No: the structure is designed for 1722 × 1134 × 30 mm modules, to guarantee the compatibility of the sealing system. Check compatibility before ordering.
Is the structure made of aluminium?
Yes, a high-strength aluminium structure: corrosion-resistant, durable, low-maintenance, with a modern finish.
Uses
What uses are possible?
A carport to protect and charge your vehicles, a photovoltaic pergola, a lounge area, a modern terrace or an outdoor kitchen cover. The structure can power lighting, a fridge, sockets and outdoor appliances.
Can it be installed on a remote site?
Yes. SOLYPOD is particularly suited to off-grid plots, autonomous homes, tiny houses, agricultural projects and off-grid spaces.
Delivery & assembly
Can I install SOLYPOD myself?
Yes. The system is designed to simplify assembly. Depending on the configuration, certain technical skills and specific equipment may be required.
Can I use my own contractor?
Yes, you are entirely free to choose your installer.
Are the foundations included?
No. Foundations depend on the terrain, soil type, local regulations and climate loads. Some fixing elements may be included depending on the configuration, but the final anchoring must be adapted to the actual support.
Is a concrete slab mandatory?
Not always. Depending on the terrain: concrete slab, concrete footings, ground beams or specific foundations. A local technical validation is recommended.
Do I need a building permit?
It depends on the country, region, dimensions and local regulations; the administrative steps remain your responsibility. The clean, ecological and easily removable structure is generally an argument appreciated by the authorities.
Strength & safety
What is the wind and snow resistance?
The standard structure is designed for wind speeds up to 35 m/s (~126 km/h) and a snow load of 0.75 kN/m².
Is performance guaranteed in all cases?
No. It depends on the support, foundations, anchoring system, build quality, local conditions, adherence to installation guidelines and maintenance.
Production & autonomy
What solar production can I expect?
Around 9 MWh/year as a conservative estimate with the 15-panel kit (6.8 kWp), and up to 10,000 kWh/year depending on the region and sunlight.
Can I power a home with SOLYPOD?
Yes. Depending on the configuration, SOLYPOD can cover a significant part of a home's energy needs.
Can I charge an electric vehicle?
Yes, a charging station can be added as an option.
Are batteries mandatory?
